As for yesterday's, Cara was closest: it was a piece of a plum (the pit plus some of the torn off bit around it):

I'm useless at this, but I'm going to guess something obvious, because it's the only thing I can think of. Is it cellophane noodles or rice noodles? Maybe I need more sleep.
